Round 2 (38): Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State

Green Bay fixes another need in the second round.

The good part of the Rasul Douglas trade is the additional third-round pick the Packers now have. That added flexibility allows them to trade up. However, Douglas' departure makes cornerback a need entering the offseason.

Outside of Jaire Alexander, the Packers face a lot of uncertainty. Eric Stokes has only played four snaps in a year. Carrington Valentine will start while Stokes is out, but he's a seventh-round rookie.

The Packers may need to use another early pick at the cornerback position, but with two second-round picks to work with, they get their opportunity here with another star player from Ohio State.

Denzel Burke is having an excellent season. He was named a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award this season, which goes to the best defensive back in college football.

As a former wide receiver, Burke regularly gets his hands on the football. He has played 31 games for Ohio State since the start of the 2021 season, making 26 pass defenses and two interceptions with a pick-six.

Burke has the potential to become a CB1 in the NFL. Alongside Jaire Alexander, the Packers could have two shutdown corners on the outside.
