The Green Bay Packers could be without their top running back, wide receiver, left tackle, and cornerback in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

Green Bay added cornerback Jaire Alexander to the injury report on Friday. He is dealing with a back issue and is questionable to play against New Orleans.

It seems that for every good piece of injury news, three concerning updates immediately follow it. The Packers have dealt with awful injury luck to begin the season. Here are the latest updates ahead of Week 3.

Packers injury report Week 3: Jaire Alexander questionable due to back injury

The Packers listed five players as questionable for Week 3: Jaire Alexander (back), David Bakhtiari (knee), Lukas Van Ness (elbow), Aaron Jones, and Christian Watson (both hamstring). Guard Elgton Jenkins (knee) is out.

Alexander was added to the injury report on Friday, which is never a great sign.

"His back was acting up a little bit, so we'll monitor that and see where he's at," said head coach Matt LaFleur.

The good news is that Jones and Watson both practiced on Friday. They were limited. Jones has now practiced two days in a row, while Watson practiced on Wednesday and Friday. Both could play on Sunday but we may have to wait until Sunday to find out.

Green Bay has two games in five days, including a crucial divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions next Thursday night. The Packers can't afford to lose so many key players ahead of two huge games.

Hopefully, any starters unable to go on Sunday will be ready with a few extra days of recovery before Week 4.

Suddenly, the Packers' early bye in Week 6 feels perfectly placed. The team needs some better injury luck with games against the Saints and Lions to come in less than a week.
