Packers injury report: Jordan Love gets more bad news ahead of Week 2
The football gods are testing Jordan Love. Losing Christian Watson didn't stop him from lighting up the Chicago Bears defense with three touchdown passes, but the challenge could increase in Week 2.
Love could lead an offense missing Watson and running back Aaron Jones, who starred in the Green Bay Packers' season-opening victory over Chicago.
The Packers' updated injury report for Week 2 isn't particularly encouraging.
Packers Week 2 injury report will make Jordan Love sick
Hamstring injuries require caution. It's important not to rush back too early, as that can only make things far worse. Three of the Packers' best offensive players are dealing with hamstring injuries.
Christian Watson missed the Packers' season opener and could again sit out this week. Aaron Jones suffered a hamstring injury against the Bears, and he, too, could miss Sunday's game.
Both players sat out of practice again on Thursday, a concerning sign for their availability in Week 2.
The good news is that Romeo Doubs should play. Doubs didn't have a full-time role last week, as he was returning from a hamstring injury of his own. It didn't stop him from catching two touchdowns. He was a limited participant at practice the past two days and is on track to play in Week 2.
But the Packers can't afford to enter Week 2 without Watson and Jones.
Jones dominated in Week 1, finishing with 127 total yards and two touchdowns despite not playing the full game. The Packers need him to play against the Falcons, especially if Watson remains out.
When Jones was off the field, AJ Dillon struggled, averaging a disappointing 1.5 yards per attempt against the Bears. He needs a far better performance this week.
Love passed his first test as the Packers' QB1, even without Watson. With Watson and Jones doubts to play, he potentially faces an even greater challenge in Week 2.
