Jordan Love gets the best injury update ahead of Packers vs. Bears in Week 18
Jordan Love is the guy for the Green Bay Packers. He is coming off a three-touchdown performance against the Minnesota Vikings. Love had no Luke Musgrave. No Christian Watson. No Dontayvion Wicks. Jayden Reed exited the game at halftime.
But Love still delivered, leaning on former seventh-round pick Bo Melton and rookie tight end Tucker Kraft to pick apart the Vikings' defense in the second half.
Imagine Love with his full complement of receivers. We could see it in Week 18.
Packers could finally have their entire receiving corps available in Week 18
Dontayvion Wicks practiced in full on Thursday, indicating he will return from a chest injury that kept him out of the Vikings game. Jayden Reed said he feels "pretty good" and his X-rays were "fine" after leaving last week's win with a chest injury. All signs point toward Wicks and Reed playing this week.
What about Luke Musgrave and Christian Watson, who have missed multiple games?
"I'd say it's realistic, yes," head coach Matt LaFleur said about the possibility of Musgrave returning this week.
"I can play," said Musgrave.
Getting Musgrave back in the lineup alongside standout rookie Tucker Kraft would give the offense a massive boost. But Musgrave might not be alone.
Christian Watson has practiced this week and hinted that he could be available.
Watson said: "My passion is playing football and now it's looking a lot like I'm going to be able to play some football this Sunday. I'm in a really good spot."
Aaron Jones is the healthiest he has been all season, having missed a lot of time due to hamstring and knee injuries.
It has taken until Week 18, but Love might finally be surrounded by his entire group of receivers. Green Bay could take on Chicago with Jones, Reed, Watson, Musgrave, Wicks, Romeo Doubs, and Kraft available.
Dare I say, just in time for the playoffs?
