What would a Jordan Love contract extension with Packers look like in 2024?
Jordan Love finished his New Year's Eve by completing 72% of his passes for 256 yards and putting up four scores, three through the air and one on the ground. It helped propel the Green Bay Packers past a top-10 defense in a 33-10 victory over the division-rival Minnesota Vikings.
After this performance, Packers brass and fans alike are clamoring for a deal to get done with Love to lock the quarterback up for the foreseeable future and confirm that he is the future at the position.
Unless things fall off in Week 18, Love will likely finish his first year as the starting QB by throwing for over 4,000 yards and scoring over 35 total touchdowns.
That puts him on track for a healthy contract extension this offseason.
How much will Jordan Love land on new deal with Packers?
The question remains: How much would Jordan Love cost the Packers?
If the front office views him as the long-term answer at the position (which they most certainly do) then is he worth $50 million annually? Or do the Packers go a little cheaper and offer Love somewhere in the range of $38-45 million a year?
Love will most likely be offered a four-year, $180-$200 million contract this offseason, putting him well in the top 10 highest-paid quarterbacks based on annual salary, sitting around $45-$50 million a year.

The Packers are in a good position to offer Love a contract of this size due to how young the offense around him is. With only Aaron Jones, David Bahktiari, and Elgton Jenkins being on a second or third contract, it allows the team to spend more on the most valuable position on the team.
Getting an extension with Love sooner will be important because it will give the front office more leeway with the future contracts of players like Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and AJ Dillon.
It is exciting to see how well Love has played in his first year starting, especially given how young the team is around him. Love has given many Packers fans hope for the future following the Aaron Rodgers era.
A new contract will help solidify that the Jordan Love era is in full effect.
