Packers' Josh Jacobs signing looks even better after comments by Raiders head coach
Josh Jacobs needs no introduction. The Green Bay Packers know they are getting one of the league's premier running backs.
A little over a year ago, Jacobs was the NFL rushing champion after putting up 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. If he can reach a level even close to that, Green Bay's offense will become one of the league's best.
"He's a very proven back. He runs with a lot of violence, explosiveness," said Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. "He's really a guy that can flourish in all phases, as a runner, as a blocker, and certainly as a pass catcher."
The Packers are excited, as they should be. What's even more notable is the reaction of Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, which tells us exactly how great of a signing this was for Green Bay.

Pierce gave an honest answer when asked about Jacobs' departure. He called Jacobs "the heartbeat" of their team, adding that it "hurt" when he left.

That tells us a lot about Jacobs and what he can bring to the Packers' locker room.
Coincidentally, Gutekunst previously referred to Aaron Jones as the Packers' "heartbeat." Now, Jacobs has the task of replacing Jones in Green Bay.
