Packers left with a tough Jordan Love decision after concerning Week 3 injury report

It would be easier to list the Green Bay Packers' offensive players who are not on the Week 3 injury report.

The Packers' injury report has officially hit midseason form. On a day when Jordan Love returned to practice, four of the five offensive line starters joined him on the injury report. Starting tackles Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom, guard Elgton Jenkins, and center Josh Myers are injured. Even Jordan Morgan, who has split snaps with Sean Rhyan at right guard, didn't practice.

Matt LaFleur wants to protect his quarterback, who is aiming to play this week after missing Week 2 with a sprained MCL. However, the Packers not only need to ensure Love can protect himself, but also that the players around him can prevent him from getting hit.

The initial Week 3 injury report paints a concerning picture.

Packers injury concerns could impact their decision on Jordan Love

It's early in the week, and there's still plenty of time for the injured players to prove they are ready for Week 3. However, if multiple linemen can't go, will it impact the team's decision on Love? The last thing they need is their injured franchise quarterback playing behind a makeshift offensive line.

To make matters worse, tight end Tucker Kraft, who is quickly becoming invaluable with his blocking ability, is also on the injury report. Leading wide receiver Jayden Reed, who would give Love an option in the short-passing game, didn't practice due to a calf issue.

Love has his own set of hurdles to clear in order to play against the Tennessee Titans, but the Packers must also factor in the health of the players around him.

Running back Josh Jacobs was unsurprisingly limited on Wednesday. He played through a back injury in Week 2, although you never would have guessed as he rushed 32 times for 151 yards. LaFleur said he isn't concerned about Jacobs' status for this week's game. However, the Packers have lost rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd for at least four games after he landed on injured reserve.

Hopefully, the Packers get good news as the week goes on. They need a healthy Love, but he needs good protection from the players up front.
