Aaron Jones 'confident' he can return this week

It would be a good week for the Packers to get Aaron Jones back on the field, especially with AJ Dillon dealing with a broken thumb.

Jones is practicing again this week and is "confident" that he can return on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Jones has missed the previous three games due to a sprained MCL. He has dealt with similar injuries in previous years, never missing more than two consecutive games. That would suggest he could be close to returning.

Frustrating injuries have impacted Jones' season. He missed three games due to a hamstring injury earlier in the year. Just as he was putting a run of games together at full strength, he suffered this knee injury against the Los Angeles Chargers.

His potential return would come at just the right time. The Packers face a crucial four-game stretch to close out the regular season. Four straight wins almost guarantees them a playoff berth, while a 3-1 finish may also be enough for a wild-card spot. But anything less than that, and Green Bay could be sitting on the outside looking in at the playoffs.

Jones is a game-changer. Hopefully, he is ready to return for a massive matchup with the Bucs on Sunday.
