1. Detroit Lions (5-1)

Detroit Lions: NFC North champions? It's only Week 6, but the Lions are the division's best team, and it's not close. They extended their lead at the top with a comfortable road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Detroit held Tampa Bay to six points, allowed zero touchdowns, and won the turnover battle.

The Lions have leaned on their rushing attack this season, but they couldn't on Sunday. Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs was ruled out before the game, then David Montgomery had to leave early due to a rib injury. Without their top two running backs, the Lions couldn't get things going on the ground, averaging only 1.8 yards per carry.

But it didn't matter. The Lions put the ball in Jared Goff's hands, and he delivered with 353 yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions could have this division wrapped up pretty quickly. They are one of the NFC's best teams and have so many winnable games on the schedule. The Lions still get to play the Bears and Vikings twice, the Packers, Raiders, and Broncos. That could be another seven wins already.

Detroit will almost certainly host a playoff game. How far can this Lions team go in the NFC?
