3 Packers who must play more in Week 2 vs. Falcons
1. Rashan Gary
The Packers are smartly easing Rashan Gary back into action. Week 1 was his first game back since tearing his ACL last November. And he delivered.
According to Pro Football Focus, Gary only played 10 snaps but made five pressures. No, that is not a typo. Talk about making an impact in his return from injury. Gary was on pace for a career year in 2022 before injury cost him half the season. He aims to make up for lost time now that he's back.
While we shouldn't expect a full-time role for Gary just yet, the Packers will hopefully increase his snap counts. Again, they are taking the right approach by easing him in gradually.
"We'll see," said head coach Matt LaFleur. "We're still going to be smart with him. We've got a long run in front of us. Certainly, he's a guy that you want on the field at all times, but I also think that as a staff, and it's a credit to everybody up front, we have more depth than we've had maybe ever in my time here."
Gary is going to play a significant role this season, and the Packers are smart to take it slow. But after dominating on just a handful of snaps last week, Gary should see an increase in his playing time against the Falcons.
