Rasul Douglas makes bold Jordan Love prediction after Packers Week 1 win
The Green Bay Packers have owned the Chicago Bears over the past three decades. Brett Favre dominated the rivalry, as did Aaron Rodgers. On Sunday, Jordan Love won his first game against the Bears.
Since 1993, the Packers have a dominant 48-14 record against the Bears. They just won their ninth game in a row over their oldest rivals since Matt LaFleur took over as head coach.
Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas has made several big plays against the Bears in recent years, including a pick-six in 2021. He made eight tackles and one pass defense in Sunday's blowout victory. And Douglas predicts more Packers dominance moving forward.
Rasul Douglas makes bold Jordan Love prediction after Packers beat Bears
As he walked down the tunnel immediately following the Packers' victory over the Bears, Douglas made a bold statement about the team's future.
"30 years, another 30 years, about to be another 30 years," said Douglas.
Douglas joked last week that Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers played 30 years each. By saying there were 30 years, then another 30, and now there will be 30 more, he likely means Jordan Love as the Packers' quarterback.
And who could blame him?
Love impressed all summer, and he made the perfect start to the regular season. Green Bay's new QB1 threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns against Chicago. He even turned a fumble into a 37-yard completion to rookie tight end Luke Musgrave.
Love spent three years learning from Aaron Rodgers. In his first game as the full-time starter, he did what Rodgers loved to do: Destroy the Bears.
The early signs are promising for Love and this young Packers team. They made the perfect start. Douglas predicts it's the start of 30 more years of success in Green Bay.
