Packers remaining 2023 free agents after two weeks
Two weeks into free agency, which Green Bay Packers players remain unsigned?
The Packers have made a relatively quiet start to free agency, which was to be expected with limited salary cap room.
They have made some moves to help the special teams, including signing safety Tarvarius Moore and long snapper Matt Orzech. They have also re-signed key special teams contributors, linebacker Eric Wilson, safety Rudy Ford, and cornerback/returner Keisean Nixon.
Green Bay has also lost a lot of talent in free agency. Wide receiver Allen Lazard, tight end Robert Tonyan, and defensive linemen Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry have all found new teams.
The Packers still have a number of remaining free agents. Here's the complete list:
Green Bay Packers: Remaining 2023 free agents
- Safety Adrian Amos
- Kicker Mason Crosby
- Tight end Marcedes Lewis
- Wide receiver Randall Cobb
- Safety Dallin Leavitt
Talk about experience.
Adrian Amos hasn't missed a game for the Packers. From the moment he signed with the team in free agency four years ago, he has played every game.
Mason Crosby hasn't missed a Packers game in his entire NFL career -- he was drafted in 2007.
Marcedes Lewis has played 251 regular-season games, including 81 for the Packers. Randall Cobb has played 155 career regular-season contests, including 130 for the Packers.
Dallin Leavitt was a key special teams player for the Packers last season, but the team's decision to sign safeties Moore and Ford may mean his time in Green Bay is over.
Not only are they experienced players, but locker room leaders.
Perhaps Green Bay ends up bringing back one or two of them, but it wouldn't be surprising to see them all sign elsewhere. And in many ways, it makes sense.
Aaron Rodgers is all but gone. The Packers are turning the page to a new era with Jordan Love. Maybe it's the right time to move on from veteran players like Crosby and Cobb, who played starring roles in the Rodgers era.
Which of Green Bay's remaining free agents should be re-signed?
