Packers roster projection 3.0: Who is going to make the final 53?
We continue to learn more about the new-look Green Bay Packers as their roster begins to take shape.
The preseason victory over the Cincinnati Bengals provided more twists and turns in various positional battles, setting up a fascinating final two weeks before the Packers confirm their initial 53.
This week, the Packers host the New England Patriots for joint practices, followed by their preseason matchup at Lambeau Field.
Before then, it's time to make an updated roster projection following the win over Cincinnati.
Quarterback (2)
Jordan Love, Sean Clifford
Friday's game confirmed what we already knew: Jordan Love and Sean Clifford are the top two at quarterback. There won't be any surprises at quarterback on the 53-man roster.
Despite throwing two picks, Clifford had a solid preseason debut, completing 20 of 26 passes and throwing one touchdown. He made some impressive plays throughout the evening, including a beautiful pass to second-year receiver Samori Toure while rolling to his left.
Clifford pulled even further ahead of Alex McGough in the battle for the backup job. The competition was effectively over once the Packers released Danny Etling, but Clifford's performance in the preseason opener just about confirms that he will be backing up Love this season.
