3. Tyler Goodson

Tyler Goodson is off to a good start to the summer. He was impressive throughout the offseason workout program, which is a promising sign. However, he needs to show improvements in a couple of key areas to secure the No. 3 running back job.

Remember that Goodson was equally as impressive last summer, dominating at training camp while putting in solid preseason performances. At one point, Goodson had seemingly done enough to win the job over Patrick Taylor.

As it turned out, the Packers kept only two running backs on their initial 53-man roster: Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Taylor was the choice to back them up in the regular season, with the Packers trusting his pass protection. He also contributed on special teams.

Goodson is an explosive player who could step in and make an impact if either Jones or Dillon missed time. But can he do those other things well enough? The Packers won't give any running back many snaps if they can't hold up in pass protection.

If Goodson shows improvements in those areas, the job could be his. However, despite a fast start to the summer, Goodson has a lot to prove to win the No. 3 job ahead of Taylor and rookie Lew Nichols III.
