David Bakhtiari's future with the Green Bay Packers has been a topic of conversation all summer.

Bakhtiari is entering the final year of his contract in Green Bay. With the team getting younger on both sides of the ball, it was fair to ask whether the Packers would consider their options.

Green Bay has talented young players at offensive tackle, including Zach Tom, Yosh Nijman, and Rasheed Walker. Moving on from Bakhtiari to add future draft capital and cap space wouldn't have been a shocking decision by the Packers.

And there's rarely a time when no other team needs tackle help. Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets immediately come to mind.

However, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has shut down the rumors about a potential Bakhtiari trade.

Packers GM dismisses rumors of David Bakhtiari trade

The Packers have no plans to trade their five-time All-Pro left tackle.

"We're not going to trade David, so let's just get that out of the way because I know there has been a little bit of chatter about that," said Gutekunst.

Well, that settles it.

Maybe we can revisit this conversation if the Packers fall out of playoff contention around midseason and other playoff teams are in need of tackle help. But until then, the Packers seemingly have no intention of moving on from their All-Pro.

And it's understandable. The Packers have an inexperienced quarterback beginning his first year as the starter. They invested a first-round pick in Jordan Love and spent three years developing him. It's important to ensure he is protected by his offensive line.

But Bakhtiari is entering the last year of his contract, so it could be his final season with the Packers.

Gutekunst made it clear he will remain in Green Bay. That's one way to emphatically shut down the trade rumors.
