It wasn't even a guarantee that Rasheed Walker would make the Packers' roster at the start of training camp. Now, he is on track to land a spot as one of the top backup tackles.

Walker was one of the Packers' most impressive players in Friday's preseason win over the Bengals, playing the team's most snaps, according to Cheesehead TV.

And he made the most of the opportunity. Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast gave Walker the second-best grade among offensive players.

His performance impressed the coaching staff, earning Walker first-team reps at practice. He won't win a starting job ahead of David Bakhtiari or Zach Tom, but he should begin the regular season as part of the second-team offense.

The Packers drafted Walker in the seventh round a year ago. He needed a season to develop, but the hope was that he could become a quality backup or even starting tackle with time. And it looks like the second-year player is on track to secure a spot on the Packers' 53-man roster.

Walker is flying up the depth chart and could effectively guarantee his roster spot with another good performance in this week's preseason matchup against the New England Patriots.
