3 standouts and 2 duds from Packers loss to Falcons in Week 2
By Drew Koch
Standout: Quay Walker
Are you kidding me, Quay Walker? My goodness! Last year's first-round draft pick had 17 total tackles on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Falcons. Eight of those were solo tackles.
The Green Bay Packers linebacker also recorded a hit on the quarterback and should have had his second interception of the season. Fans will remember Walker's heroics last week when he picked off Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields and took it back to the house.
Walker, who was in concussion protocol throughout the week, didn't seem too phased by the fact that he missed every practice before Friday. Walker was flying around the field on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and hitting everything with a red helmet.
Walker's 17 tackles were more than four times the number of takedowns he recorded last week in Chicago. Walker showed on Sunday afternoon why the Packers took the former Georgia star with the 22nd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Quay Walker knew he was going to be a busy man against the vaunted Falcons running game. And while Atlanta racked up a bunch of yards on the ground, little blame can be thrown Walker's way, as the 23-year-old had a standout performance in Week 2.
