Packers trade down multiple times in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft
Round 2 (43): Calen Bullock, S, USC
Safety could become a position of need for the Packers if they don't re-sign Darnell Savage. Rudy Ford has stepped up and played at a high level this season, and rookie Anthony Johnson Jr. could compete for a starting job in year two. But if Savage departs in free agency, the Packers will need to add another safety.
USC's Calen Bullock is a turnover machine and excellent in coverage. Last season, he made five interceptions, including a pick-six, and he has another two picks in 10 games this year, returning one for a touchdown.
"Bullock is the definition of a ball-hawking safety. He has great sideline to sideline range and he is one of the few safeties in college football that can play as a single-high safety and still thrive," writes Dustin Mosher of With the First Pick.
Bullock's run defense remains a work in progress, but his coverage ability is undeniable. He could immediately help in the Packers' secondary and compete with Rudy Ford and Anthony Johnson Jr. for a starting job. Safety will rise on Green Bay's offseason to-do list if Darnell Savage doesn't return.
Calen Bullock is a name to watch on Day 2 of the draft.
