The Green Bay Packers pull off a shocking trade for the No. 1 overall pick in this way-too-early 2024 mock draft.

It's always mock draft season. While we reflect on an exciting draft class for the Green Bay Packers, it's fun to look ahead at what could happen in the future.

At worst, the Packers will enter next year's draft with two second-round picks thanks to the Aaron Rodgers trade. However, if Rodgers hits the achievable goal of playing 65 percent of the snaps for the New York Jets this season, the Packers will have two firsts instead.

The 2023 season will be filled with fascinating storylines for the Packers. It's a year of rebuilding and evaluating. Twelve months from now, Aaron Rodgers' contract will be off the books, and the Packers will have a clear picture of where things are headed long-term.

Using the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator, we put together a way-too-early 2024 mock for the Packers. Interestingly, it gives Green Bay the No. 6 and No. 25 (from Jets) overall picks in the first rounds.

We can't rule out the Packers needing a quarterback in 2024. While they have moved to Jordan Love this offseason, nobody knows whether Love will be the long-term starting QB in Green Bay.

Even GM Brian Gutekunst was hesitant to commit to Love's fifth-year option when asked by reporters.

"It's a lot of money for a guy who hasn't played, but at the same time we're moving forward with him," Gutekunst said in his post-draft press conference.

Not convincing from the Packers' GM. Green Bay has until Tuesday to make the decision.

So, what happens if Love struggles this season? If the Packers have a high draft pick and two firsts, why not make a bold trade-up for the No. 1 pick? It's expensive, but potentially worth it. You'll see why shortly.
