Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said earlier this offseason that they want to add a veteran wide receiver.

While the receiving corps is exciting, it is among the most inexperienced in the NFL. Green Bay's senior receivers are Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, and they were draft picks only a year ago. The Packers' top-six at receiver is made up exclusively of draft picks from the past two offseasons.

The Packers drafted three receivers last month but may have finally found the veteran addition they were looking for.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Packers are working out wide receiver Keke Coutee, a former fourth-round pick by the Houston Texans.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston reports that a deal "could happen in next few weeks" as the Packers "liked his versatility".

Coutee has played in 33 regular-season games with the Texans and Indianapolis Colts, making 85 catches for 966 yards and four touchdowns.

How Keke Coutee could help Packers

Coutee would immediately become the Packers' most experienced wide receiver. He could also offer help on special teams.

He has experience returning punts, a role he could compete for in Green Bay. Last season with the Colts, Coutee returned 17 punts for 152 yards, averaging 8.9 yards per return.

Coutee would compete for snaps on offense, although he didn't get many opportunities with the Colts. He played in 10 games over two seasons for Indianapolis, making just two receptions for 25 yards. Coutee has also never played in more than nine games in a single season.

Still, the former fourth-round pick is a talented player who would add experience and versatility to the wide receiver room. The Packers could bring him in on an affordable deal and let him compete at training camp.

Coutee can help Green Bay's offense and special teams.
