Shocking Aaron Rodgers trade shakes up Packers 7-round mock draft
Packers make shocking Aaron Rodgers trade with 49ers
Round 3 (99): Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State
Here we go, the Aaron Rodgers trade. While the expectation is for Rodgers to get traded to the New York Jets, the Packers should consider other offers if they can't agree on a deal with New York before the draft.
Trading Rodgers to the San Francisco 49ers might not please fans, but considering Rodgers will likely only play another year or two, why not?
San Francisco doesn't own picks in the opening two rounds this year but has multiple thirds. In this scenario, the Niners send one of their thirds to the Packers and, importantly, a 2024 first-round pick. No conditions. Just a guaranteed first.
The 49ers become the team to beat in the NFC, while the Packers get great value in the deal.
With the 99th pick from the 49ers, they get some safety help with Florida State's Jammie Robinson.
"Robinson has been a productive college football player and has many translatable traits that should make him a productive NFL player early on in his career," wrote The Draft Network's Keith Sanchez.
It's not a deep safety class, but the Packers add a talented player at a position of need in the third round. Robinson has starting potential.
