The Green Bay Packers made a red-hot start against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

Despite entering the game with a significant number of injuries on both sides of the ball, the Packers marched down the field with consecutive touchdown drives to open the game.

After a slow start from Joe Barry's defense, star pass rusher Rashan Gary came up with a huge turnover on the Lions' next drive. Gary made a strip sack on Lions quarterback Jared Goff. While Lions players stopped, believing it was an incomplete pass, Packers safety Jonathan Owens scooped up the ball and ran into the end zone.

The officials called it a fumble and touchdown, which the replay review confirmed. Gary's forced fumble resulted in an Owens defensive touchdown.

Owens' wife, four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, had the perfect reaction.

Biles has attended a couple of games at Lambeau Field this season, and she is fully behind the Packers. After Owens made the fumble-return touchdown, Biles reacted on X (formerly Twitter).

It was a smart play by Owens. He made the right decision to pick up the ball and score. The Lions stopped because they thought it was an incomplete pass, but Owens was quick to react and made an excellent play.

It all started with Gary's pressure and fumble. The Packers struggled to generate pressure against the Lions in Week 4. Gary was still working his way back into a full-time role after his return from an ACL injury. In this game, he is ready to play the majority of the snaps.

The Packers have made a surprisingly strong start to the game despite being given no hope before kickoff. Can they make a Thanksgiving upset over the Lions? They've made the perfect start.
