Resurfaced Aaron Rodgers comments about Steelers sure feel like a shot at the Packers

Is this something? Nothing? It can't be nothing...

The current Aaron Rodgers saga is nothing new to Green Bay Packers fans. This is a story as old as time.

Not really, but you get the point.

It's a story in which Packer fans are quite relieved is over, in Green Bay, though. However, if you're a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, this is one well-worth monitoring at a close distance.

Rumors have swirled that Rodgers' decision, this free agency, might come down to the Steelers or New York Giants. So, naturally, Rodgers' pal Pat McAfee had to head to social media to stir the pot on the first official day of the new league year.

On Wednesday morning, McAfee carefully combed back through his social media (Twitter/X) to find a segment on his show, from three and a half years ago, in regards to Rodgers and his sentiment towards Pittsburgh.

McAfee reposted it with no comment.

First and foremost, these comments sure look like a subtle shot at the Packers organization. It was in the middle of his second-to-last year with Green Bay, and he had to know a breakup was imminent. Indeed, it happened after the very next campaign.

Praising Mike Tomlin very well could have been an indictment on Matt LaFleur, who was younger in his head coaching tenure then, of course.

But, beyond the shot at Green Bay, the mere fact that McAfee reposted this has fans buzzing.

Did Pat McAfee's reposting signal where Aaron Rodgers is going to sign?

Why would McAfee have gone back and reposted these comments? What was the reasoning behind it?

Sure, he could be pulling off one, enormous troll job just for the sake of stirring the pot.

But, McAfee and Rodgers are also friends. They have a solid relationship and one that's allowed Rodgers to appear regularly on the show for quite some time.

Does this mean Rodgers is going to end up with the Steelers? That would be quite the landing spot for the veteran; arguably better than when he ended up with the Jets.

Pittsburgh does have a lot of pieces in place on both sides of the ball, which is something the Giants can't necessarily say at the moment (although they're getting closer).

Will Rodgers be a Steeler in the near future? We shall see.
