The Green Bay Packers expected to see Jaire Alexander at some point this season, just not this soon.
Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens shortly after the Packers released him in June — Green Bay will meet Baltimore in December. However, his time in the AFC North came to a surprising end on Saturday, with the Ravens trading Alexander to the Philadelphia Eagles. He had only played two games.
It sets up a revenge game right out of the gate, as Alexander could make his Eagles debut in Week 11. On Monday Night Football. At Lambeau Field. Against the Packers.
Stars have aligned for Jaire Alexander to make his Eagles debut against the Packers
Alexander's nightmare in Baltimore is over. He only featured in two games, dealing with injuries before being left out of the lineup as a healthy scratch last week.
It didn't go much better when he did play, either. Alexander made a costly error late in their Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills, and he didn't play again until Week 5. In total, the veteran featured on just 61 defensive snaps.
But it sets the stage for his return to Lambeau Field.
The Eagles needed cornerback help, although it's uncertain if Alexander will start. Quinyon Mitchell lines up on the boundary, while Cooper DeJean typically plays inside. However, the Eagles also acquired Michael Carter II via trade this week, who is primarily a slot corner, so his arrival could push DeJean to the boundary. It's unclear where that leaves Alexander.

However, it might be too tempting for the Eagles not to unleash Alexander against the Packers. He will undoubtedly have a point to prove.
Revenge games are becoming a regular theme for this Packers team. They've already enjoyed the drama of Micah Parsons' return to Dallas, followed by Aaron Rodgers taking on Jordan Love. Now, we could get another in Week 11.
Alexander has become an NFC rival, and he could ironically make his Eagles debut against a Packers team in desperate need of cornerback help.
