Free agency is finally here. While the Green Bay Packers likely won't be big spenders in the opening week, they can undoubtedly find value at positions of need.

The Packers primarily need help at defensive tackle and cornerback, although they could still look for offensive line reinforcements even after re-signing Sean Rhyan. Running back is also an under-the-radar need, with Emanuel Wilson potentially leaving.

Fortunately, the Packers will have plenty of options in free agency. While they won't break the bank for a star name like Tyler Linderbaum, who could they realistically sign?

Five realistic free-agent targets for the Green Bay Packers

Calais Campbell, DL

Calais Campbell hasn't committed to returning this season after contemplating retirement, but perhaps a one-year Super Bowl push could convince him to stick around. The 39-year-old, six-time Pro Bowler is still on top of his game, having made 6.5 sacks while starting all 17 games for the Arizona Cardinals last season.

Notably, he played under Jonathan Gannon, who will now lead the Packers' defense as Jeff Hafley's replacement.

Campbell would add much-needed interior pass rush to the Packers' defense, as proven not only by his 117 career sacks, but also the 23.5 he has made over the past four seasons. Just as importantly, Campbell is still a phenomenal run defender — his PFF run-defense grade ranked 16th among 134 interior linemen last year.

If Campbell decides to enter Year 19, the Packers could be the team to make it happen.

Roger McCreary, CB

The Packers missed an opportunity to trade for Roger McCreary before last year's deadline. He instead headed to the Los Angeles Rams.

Green Bay gets another opportunity in free agency. McCreary offers inside/outside versatility, which the Packers love. He proved his ability as a boundary corner during the Rams' playoff run, allowing a passer rating of just 73.7, per Pro Football Reference. On top of that, the 2022 second-round draft choice is a strong run defender.

The Packers desperately need competition for Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine on the outside, and McCreary could instantly become the No. 1 CB in Gannon's defense.

Jamel Dean, CB

While Jamel Dean is entering his age-30 season, he is coming off one of the best years of his career in Tampa Bay. Dean made three interceptions, a career best, while allowing quarterbacks to complete just 49.2 percent of passes in his coverage for a 63.1 passer rating, per Pro Football Reference.

Dean's PFF coverage grade ranked 10th among all cornerbacks last season. The Packers need to make a move at the position, and signing Tampa Bay's 2019 third-round pick won't break the bank.

It's exactly the kind of win-now move the Packers need to consider.

Tyler Allgeier, RB

The Packers' decision not to bring back Emanuel Wilson came as a surprise, but they have an opportunity to upgrade the RB2 spot in free agency with Tyler Allgeier.

Allgeier is an underrated running back after playing behind Bijan Robinson in Atlanta, but his numbers say it all. In Allgeier's rookie season, a year before Robinson's arrival, he rushed for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns. His stats have understandably regressed since then as Robinson took over the backfield.

But he's still averaged 613.7 rushing yards and five touchdowns in those three seasons. He is a tough, physical runner who could perfectly complement Josh Jacobs in Green Bay.

Logan Hall, DL

Green Bay's urgency at defensive tackle increased dramatically after trading Colby Wooden to the Indianapolis Colts. That's where Logan Hall could come in.

Hall can do a bit of everything, having lined up at defensive tackle and defensive end throughout his career. He made 5.5 sacks as recently as 2024 before adding 1.5 from an interior position last term. Beyond the interior pass rush he could provide, Hall is also a strong run defender, with PFF ranking him 24th among 134 players at his position last season.

The Packers need to make multiple moves along the defensive line. Signing Hall would be a good way to start.
