This is the performance Green Bay Packers fans have been waiting for. Everything clicked on both sides of the ball as the Packers destroyed the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field.

Jordan Love threw four touchdown passes, including two to a returning Romeo Doubs. Green Bay rushed for 179 yards, and the defense forced three turnovers in a dominant 34-13 victory.

And it was an important one.

Earlier in the day, the Chicago Bears crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars in London to improve to 4-2. With the Detroit Lions having only lost one game and the Minnesota Vikings undefeated on their bye week, the Packers needed a home win to keep pace in a competitive NFC North. They achieved this and in some style.

How does the Packers' win impact the NFC playoff picture?

Updated NFC playoff picture and standings after Week 6

Here's how the NFC playoff standings look after the Packers' big win over the Cardinals:

  1. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2)
  3. Washington Commanders (4-2)
  4. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)
  5. Detroit Lions (3-1)
  6. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
  7. Chicago Bears (4-2)

Well, well, well, all four NFC North teams are currently in the playoff positions. The Vikings are a perfect 5-0, the Packers and Bears are 4-2, and the Lions are 3-1 with a chance to improve their record on Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys.

Elsewhere in the NFC, the Washington Commanders lost to the Baltimore Ravens to make the NFC East competition even more interesting. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved into first place of the NFC South with an entertaining 51-27 win over the New Orleans Saints, although the Atlanta Falcons can respond when they take on the Carolina Panthers.

There's still a long way to go, but the NFC North is proving to be as competitive as everyone expected. The team that finishes last in the division could still make the playoffs. What a world we live in.
