With their 2024 season now a thing of the past following their 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round, the Green Bay Packers must shift their focus toward the upcoming offseason.

From an overall standpoint, the Packers' roster is in good shape heading into the long break, and while they do have plenty of impending free agents, most of those players are expendable at this point.

And with ample salary cap space with which to work after tons of dead money comes off the books at the end of the official league year, Green Bay should be able to fill some of the holes on the roster that need filling once free agency begins in mid-March.

For all of their other needs, of course, they'll turn to the 2025 NFL Draft, which will actually be held in Titletown for the first time ever beginning on Thursday, April 24.

The Green Bay Packers own the No. 23 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft

Finishing the 2024 regular season at 11-6, the Packers head into the 2025 NFL Draft holding the 23rd overall pick in the first round.

The first 18 picks of the opening round were set in stone the moment the regular season concluded. Clubs like the Packers that were eliminated in the Wild Card Round receive picks 19-24 based on regular-season records, with various tiebreakers used to separate teams with identical marks.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, and Pittsburgh Steelers all finished at 10-7 and will pick 19th, 20th, and 21st, respectively. The Los Angeles Chargers and Packers each finished 11-6, but it's the Bolts picking 22nd, with Green Bay picking 23rd. And following their defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings will own the 24th pick.

As for what the Packers will do with their selection, one would think they'd use it to bolster the defense, whether it be on an edge rusher, a defensive tackle, a cornerback, or a safety.

James Pearce Jr., an edge rusher out of Tennessee, has been linked to the Packers in a few mock drafts, as has Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron. East Carolina corner Shavon Revel Jr. could be a surprise first-rounder as well. We'll undoubtedly dive into more options over the next few months.
