One nice thing about covering the NFL today is that there are just so many avenues to do so. Whether it's traditional stats, tape-watching, or the weird new wonky analytics, people today have such a better understanding of the game (that's the theory at least) than they did even a decade ago. The average fan has so much more information at their disposal, which helps grow the game in non-traditional ways. Anyone can talk ball now!

But sometimes, the old ways are still the best ways. When every single football opinion needs to be quantified a thousand different ways before anyone takes you seriously, sometimes it's nice to just be a doofus every once in a while. And reader, Green Bay Packers fans have a *golden* opportunity to be a doofus sitting right in front of them. Because reader, Toyotathon is almost here.

In a mere 48 hours, the stars and planets will align for one month only, giving way to historic sales at your local new and pre-owned Toyota dealership. It also means that we're about to get Toyotathon Jordan Love. You know the legend well. And as one (1) single Reddit user pointed out, when Toyotathon arrives, so does Jordan Love.

Is Jordan Love about to go on a heater for the Packers because it's Toyotathon?

"I remember at the beginning of the season there was a joke making the rounds that Love only plays at an elite level during Toyotathon. Given the fact that the next game is around the time when Toyotathon typically starts, it looks like those claims won't be going away any time soon. Obviously it's just jokes, but I just thought it was a funny point to bring up given the interception struggles this season so far."

Jordan Love before and after Toyotathon in 2023

  • Before: 176/300 (58.7 percent), 2,009 yards, 14 TDs, 10 INTs, 80.5 rating
  • After: 196/279 (70.3 percent), 2,150 yards, 18 TDs, 1 INT, 112.7 rating

I'm sold. The deals that Toyota offers during this most holy month are so inspiring that's it's easy to see why Love would level up his play. Iron sharpens iron. It couldn't come at a better time, either: with four tough games coming up – two of them being road division matchups – the Packers could use all the cosmic help they can get.

While the Chicago Bears fight for their life this weekend, the Packers will tap into the power of historically low APRs and stress-free financing. Dread it, run from it, Toyotathon still arrives.
