Rex Ryan Gives Brett Favre the Ted Thompson Treatment

AUTHOR: | IN: Packers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

I ran across this paragraph from this little link: Clearly, Rex Ryan didn’t want [Brett] Favre, despite saying just the opposite last week. Ryan was hired on Jan. 19. Favre retired on Feb. 11. Not once did Ryan reach out to Favre and try to persuade him to play, claiming he didn’t feel it was appropriate. If Ryan wanted Favre, he would have called him or shown up on his doorstep in Hattiesburg. The first time they spoke is when Favre called to say he was done. Sounds like Ryan has a sound head on his shoulders, not wanting a [...]

March Madness: WMD Style

AUTHOR: | IN: Packers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Folks, it’s that time of year called “March Madness.”  Tonight we have Purdue facing off against UConn, Pittsburgh battling Xavier, Missouri trying to upset Memphis, and Villanova trying to take down Duke. But here at the FanSided.com network, we have a different kind of March Madness.  This one involves WMD.  No, it’s not the madness that happened six years ago when the United States invaded Iraq looking for WMD, it’s a whole new kind of WMD: the Worst Man Drafted. That’s right, over NFL Mocks, we are hosting a 64-man tournament featuring the top two draft busts in the history [...]

NoLogoNeeded NFL Mock Draft Picks 31-32

AUTHOR: | IN: Mock Draft | COMMENTS: None Yet

The end of the first round comes with Arizona and Pittsburgh making their picks. With the 30th pick in the Mock Draft Among Blogs, the Arizona Cardinals select: ***Chris Wells, RB, OSU*** Why the Cardinals chose Wells as per DraftCountdown.com: The Cardinals might be the only team in the league that counts running back as one of their top Draft Day priorities, but that could work out well for them as there should be some excellent options on the board here. There is certainly a chance that Knowshon Moreno will be long gone by this point but running backs do [...]

NoLogoNeeded NFL Mock Draft Picks 23-30

AUTHOR: | IN: Mock Draft | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Sorry I haven’t gotten a chance to update this recently.  Stuffs been pretty hectic.  Gotta get all you caught up. With the 23rd Pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select…..   Before I get to that, let me just say that I am going to get killed for this. And it’s not my fault, honest. I mean, you see how this pretend draft has gone for me, the pretend GM of the pretend Pats. Let’s just say Rey Maualugua wasn’t going to be sliding in this particular selection process. Neither was Clay Matthews or Brian Cushing, [...]

NoLogoNeeded NFL Mock Draft Picks 19-22

AUTHOR: | IN: Mock Draft, NFL, Packers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

And we’re back again.  Some notable picks in here.  Both the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings will make picks in this span. The Buccaneers blog, Buc ‘Em, has selected: ***Percy Harvin, WR, Flordia*** The Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves with a number of question marks entering the season. Will the new coaching staff succeed? Why couldn’t more be done with all that cap space? Are there too many holes in the roster? When it comes to the draft, the Bucs could go in a number of directions, but with this pick, they’re going with the best available athlete. Even during [...]

Bush Returns…The People Don’t Rejoice

AUTHOR: | IN: Packers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Packers have re-signed everyone’s favorite special-teamer/cornerback Jarrett Bush to a three-year contract worth $4.5 million with $1 million signing bonus.  The Packers matched the offer sheet the Tennessee Titans offered the cornerback, who will be entering his fourth year in the league in 2009.  The market for Bush was initially very tepid, but as the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came calling, the Packers moved quickly and snatched Bush up.  Bush’s contract pays him $1 million this year, $1.1 million in ’10 and $1.4 million in ’11. This isn’t [...]

NoLogoNeeded NFL Mock Draft Picks 12-18

AUTHOR: | IN: Draft, Mock Draft, NFL, Packers | COMMENTS: None Yet

I haven’t been able to update this in a while, so here are picks 12 through 18. With the 12th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select….. Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State The Denver Broncos have a lot of needs, all on the defensive side of the ball.  IN this draft, however, many of the guys the Broncos are targets have already left the board – [B.J.] Raji, Rey-Rey [Maualuga], [Brian] Orakpo, even [Clay] Matthews as a sleeper.  For me it came down to [Malcolm] Jenkins or Brian Cushing and at this point I gave the slight edge [...]
