Week 11 Packer Fantasy Focus

The Green Bay Packers are off a bye week and if you are a fantasy football team owner you are very pleased.  Last week was a horrid scraping off the free agent wire to find replacements for all the solid starters that enjoyed the weekend off.  If you’re like me, than you have more than one Pack on your roster.  I have three on one team and at least two on the others. Here is what you can expect this week when the Packers return to action.

Week 11 Packer Fantasy Focus:

Aaron Rodgers – The overwhelming first QB taken off the board in drafts back in August will face the Vikings for a second time this season.  Rodgers threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting back in week 7.  There is no reason to believe that he won’t at least match that same production.  I think that will have a better statistical game this time around.

Brandon Jackson – Sometimes you have to start a 3rd tier runner and that is what Jackson is.  However, he can get you some points when the passing game is working well.  In week 7 Jackson combined for 104 yards and a touchdown.  If your in a bind with some injuries or maybe a key runner doesn’t match up well this week with another defense, Jackson would be safe start to get you some points.

John Kuhn – Believe it or not, he is owned in some leagues and that isn’t a bad thing.  But there is a lot better options out there.  If you have no choice but to play him, don’t expect more than one or two points from yardage and maybe one touchdown if he gets the ball close.

Greg Jennings – Jennings is still quiet this season but as long as Rodgers is tossing the rock, Jennings could have a big game at any time.  I don’t think it will be this week, but I do like what Jennings did in week 7.  67 yards and a touchdown.  You just really want your starting wideouts to get over 100 yards.  Still, Jennings is a weekly must on your lineup unless your stacked.

James Jones – If Jones is still available in your league you should grab him.  He is becoming more and more reliable each week and while he may drop a pass here and there, Rodgers has not lost faith in him at all.  Is he a must start yet?  No, but he is getting there and deeper leagues with WR’s thin, Jones is a great addition and will get you some points.  I would start him this week.

Donald Driver – The status of Driver is not known yet but I wouldn’t put him in the lineup until he is back 100 percent.

Mason Crosby – This is a go to kicker who puts points on the board.  If your carrying two kickers well, I hope that was only because you needed a bye week fill in.  Crosby should be your number 1 and only.

Clay Mathews – The guy could seriously receive league MVP honors.  If your in an IDP league, start him.

Packers Defense – This team is generating some serious points from the defense.  Picks, fumble recoveries, and even touchdowns.  This week, Favre will try and get the ball into the endzone and he will so I don’t expect the Packers to shut them out, but I would not be surprised to see them pick him 3 times again and one of those going back for six.  If you have the Packers D, this is a must start this week.

That’s it for this week, see you in week 12!
