A look back at what was a Green Bay Packers Wednesday
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers held their fourth day of training camp … a day marked by an extension for General Manager Ted Thompson, the announcement that defensive lineman Jerel Worthy had offseason back surgery after an injury lifting weights, and much, much more.
Though the “distractions” that come with any football team haven’t really raised their heads yet in Packers camp, Head Coach Mike McCarthy said they are coming … so he’s expecting some sort of drama to be on the horizon.
But in the meantime, the Packers have been rolling through the honeymoon portion of their camp, where everyone looks good in helmets and shorts and every team has high expectations of going to the Super Bowl.
Reality, or as McCarthy calls them, distractions, should start to take hold sometime soon. More injuries, sometimes to the players a team can least afford to lose, will come and teams, including the Packers will face adversity.
But until then, let’s enjoy the honeymoon.
