Packers, Brett Favre reunite: What are our Facebook friends thinking?

Many thought the day would never come for the Green Bay Packers or Brett Favre.

But it has and we should believe Brett Favre when he says,  “I was always be a Packer.”

Yesterday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre had a love-fest of sorts as the franchise and the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame held a joint press conference to announce that Favre would once again be part of Packers Nation. Favre is to be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame with the induction set for July 2015. That will be followed at some point later in the year with the formal retirement of his number.

Heck, if you believe Favre, he may even make an appearance at Lambeau Field yet this year – but we’ll see about that.

In addition to comments from Packers President Mark Murphy and Hall of Fame President Perry Kidder, former Packers President Bob Harlan also joined in to exclaim this as a great day for Packers Nation.

Favre is expected to be formally inducted next July, but it will be the number retirement that will surely garner the most interest as the Packers place Favre’s number into immortality.

So much turmoil over the past few years have painted Favre as a devil and traitor among Packers fans, while the rest of us see him as the player who helped turn around a struggling franchise that may not even be around today had it not been for the likes of Bob Harlan, Ron Wolf, Mike Holmgren and, of course, Brett Favre.

That said, we asked this question on Facebook – Describe Brett Favre in a SINGLE word. Though some went beyond those easy guidelines by including more than a single word, there were still plenty who put some thought into the question and replied.
