Aaron Rodgers is synonymous to the Green Bay Packers and to the success of the team.

Since he took over the reins of the iconic organization from the fabled Brett Favre, Rodgers hasn’t looked back. Year-in and year-out Rodgers has been the face of the franchise – the man who makes all the decisions, accepts all the blame and basks in the glory of all the team’s successes.

Nothing could be more clear than his leadership skills. When he says it’s time to R-E-L-A-X and that the team will run the table, everyone believes him.

That’s because whatever powers he has, it’s the ability to quietly lead others to the land of milk and honey that is his strength.

We’ve seen him win MVP awards; we’ve seen him win a Super Bowl; we’ve seen him win a Super Bowl MVP. And along the way we’ve seen him win and win and win. There was the fourth down pass to Randall Cobb in Chicago; there was the dart to Jared Cook down there in Dallas … and so much between. In these games, Rodgers has continued to play as we expect because the bar has been set so high.

We can’t also forget that Rodgers was the Packers quarterback for the team that went into a shell during that fourth quarter of that 2014 championship game at Seattle, nor that we are continuing to see golden opportunities slip away from Rodgers.

It’s cliche, but there is the expectation that every time Rodgers is on the field it tilts in the Packers favor.

But what is missing? What else can Aaron Rodgers do to raise his legacy even higher?

Of course, another Super Bowl … or two.

Rodgers isn’t getting any younger. The opportunities are getting tougher. When the quarterback makes it clear he wants management to restart this team, you know the clock is ticking.

To get to the promised land, Rodgers has to be his best once again in 2017.

But given the history Rodgers has already set, why should we doubt that the coming seasons won’t provide for even more of the same? Why can’t Rodgers continue to make the miracle throws and win the big games?

We should expect it. Rodgers expects it. But to get there was played out unsuccessfully the past few years. The most recent loss in Atlanta was brutal, yet eye-opening loss for Green Bay.

Now it’s up to Rodgers … and management … to look for even better things in 2017. With the right personnel moves, a little luck and consistency from key players – including Rodgers – the next step could be another Super Bowl.

So spoiled we’ve been to even consider … that the Packers are perennial favorites. Most recently, the Packers have been stopped short of the Super Bowl.

It’s up to Rodgers to tip the field once again.
