WIDE RECEIVER: Jarrett Boykin or Davante Adams?

The Packers’ depth at receiver was challenged last season with both Randall Cobb and James Jones missing time. The one positive that came out of the situation was that third-year player Jarrett Boykin emerged as a reliable receiving target for Aaron Rodgers and company.

Now, Jarrett Boykin will have to prove himself again this season with second-round pick Davante Adams hard on his heels for playing time.

The addition of late-round picks Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis also bring more competition and depth to the receiver position, and with young, talented players, like Myles White, Kevin Dorsey, and Chris Harper, returning for their second year, the Packers should enter the 2014 seasons with a solid group of receivers after it all shakes out during training camp.

Out of all the young players, Adams seems the most pro-ready and will offer tremendous depth behind starters Cobb and Nelson. The most intriguing thing to watch at the position in training camp will be whether or not Adams moves ahead of Boykin on the depth chart.

It will also be interesting to watch who breaks out in training camp and grabs the final few roster spots at the position. White, Dorsey, and Harper will certainly challenge Abbrederis and Janis.
