Going into the offseason, the Packers looked to have possibly the top RB group in the league for the upcoming season.

After the career-ending neck injury to Johnathan Franklin, the overall depth has taken a hit, but the group is still a very strong one moving forward. Lacy proved himself to be a workhorse back who can take a beating, putting up  strong games throughout the year and ending with over 1,200 yards despite multiple injuries hampering him along the way.

Starks, meanwhile, showed more of his promise that makes the Packers love him despite his own past injury woes. Don’t forget about Harris either; before having knee issues that eventually got him sent to the IR, he was slated to start in a 1-2 combination with Lacy last season. This year Lacy looks to stay as the main workhorse, but having Starks and Harris behind him will provide strong change of pace options, each with unique skill sets.

And that doesn’t even mention Kuhn, who is still the best pass-protector of the group and gives another pass-catching/goal-line option.

Of the players who look to be left out, there doesn’t seem to be all that much standing out about them. If any of them has a shot to make the roster it would probably be Neal, who was getting talked about earlier in the offseason. As it stands, with the needs and players standing out more in other areas of the roster, I wouldn’t expect any more beyond the Lacy/Starks/Harris/Kuhn to make the team.
