Defensive Line (6)
Starters: Mike Daniels, Josh Boyd, Datone Jones
Backups: Khyri Thornton, Mike Pennel, Letroy Guion
Cut: Luther Robinson, Carlos Gray
Injured Reserve: B.J. Raji
Since training camp started, the Packers have traded away former second-round pick Jerel Worthy, lost their top nose tackle B.J. Raji, and have yet to see their top free agent signing at the position in practice.
Hopefully, Guion can return soon from the hamstring issues he’s been dealing with. The Packers will need him, as well as undrafted free agent Mike Pennel, at nose tackle. Pennel has been one of the few bright spots on the defensive line this summer.
Green Bay’s defense will be depending on Daniels and Jones on the line a lot this season, and this is only exasperated by Raji’s absence. Thornton has been quiet in camp so far, but may need to play a bigger role this season if the Packers are looking for a player to rotate in with the starters during games.
Robinson and Gray have both been solid in the preseason and will be practice squad candidates.
