What you may have missed: Packers tutu, hirings, firings and much more

Every Tuesday (at least until the Zombie Apocalypse), I will bring to you those important and maybe not so important pieces of Green Bay Packers tidbits that you may have missed.

Only those games that I have not attended with the power of the tutu have the Packers lost.

Be it from the game, the news or anything Packers-related, I will make it my endeavor to seek out the fun, the trivial or the truly lame and silly and offer it up as a sacrifice to the football gods and to you.

The first item for those who are superstitious, I would just like to point out for the record, that as the “Tutu Guy,” the Packers have not lost a single game that I have gone to while wearing the tutu.

Starting at Soldier Field with a resounding victory over the pathetic Chicago Bears to the dismantling of the Minnesota Vikings in the rain at Lambeau Field, the tutu has brought forth a victory each and every time.

Call me crazy but  think it is time that the Packers hire me on full-time to bring about the continued success of this season.

From the statistical realm of Packersland – did anyone else but me notice that this last Sunday, Dom Capers’ defense did not give up a single rushing or passing touchdown?

Give Capers a bye week and he can finally put together a defensive scheme that can finally stop something.

Way to go Dom!

Moving on to the, “Did You Know Category,” the Packers/Eagles game was flexed to a 3:25 pm start time. Don’t these television executives know I have a real job and the later the game the less beauty sleep I get? And trust me, without that tutu, I need a lot of sleep.

I also came across appearances by former Packers Derrick Mayes and Robert Brooks who will be at the Packers Pro Shop on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 6-7:00 p.m.

The big breaking news out of Lambeau yesterday was two-fold.

First of all, Derrick Sherrod was released. The former first round pick never broke through the way we all hoped and the potential was never realized.  Breaks my heart to see a former first-rounder fail to make it.

But on the brighter side, maybe he can find something in the entertainment industry. Derek, break a leg (well, not again)!

Derek Sherrod left the field this way back in 2011, but he walked out of 1265 Lombardi Avenue yesterday on his own power when he was released.

Then our own Mike McCarthy signed a contract extension. Terms were not released, but my guess is that the extension will allow him to make a run at Vince Lombardi’s Packers victory total. With the combination of Ted Thompson and McCarthy, the Packers faithful can only hope that the defense can be strengthened (ie: fire Capers and hire someone who can get the job done) and there are few more Super Bowl runs in their future with the continuity that the extensions bring.

So, for right now that is all that I have to share with you.

If you know of anything, hear anything or see anything, leave me a message here or send your pictures from any Packers-related event, sight or adventure.

You never know what you may have missed.
