Sign a wide receiver
Along with drafting a pass-catching running back, it would be a wise move to look at the wide receiver pool in free agency and see who is available.

Outside of Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas, who will likely return to Dallas and Denver, respectively, Philadelphia’s Jeremy Maclin would be an attractive option.
The 26-year-old caught 56 passes for 773 yards and four touchdowns.
While he is a talented option, it’s likely he will demand a similar salary to Cobb, so it seems improbable Thompson would be willing to pay Maclin and not Cobb.
Another pending free agent is Baltimore’s Torrey Smith, who would most likely command a smaller salary than Cobb and Maclin.
Smith caught 49 Joe Flacco passes for 767 yards and 11 touchdowns. Like Maclin, he is still only 26 years old.
Thompson may stick to his draft-and-develop philosophy when looking for a receiver, and there are options available to him …
Jaelen Strong could be available when the Packers hit the clock, though it’s unlikely Ted Thompson would use a first-round selection on a wide receiver.
Devin Funchess is an intriguing option, but I will come back to him later.

Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson and Cobb himself were all drafted in the second round, and James Jones was drafted in the third round.
In the third round, Oklahoma’s Dorial Green-Beckham and Fresno State’s Joshua Harper could fall to the Packers.
It’s a deep draft class at wideout, and there should be options for the Packers on the second and third day of the draft should Cobb walk.
