Another choice Thompson might have to make is between defensive tackles B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion.

Raji missed the entire 2014 season with a torn bicep, while Guion filled in for him and had a decent season. Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press Gazette doesn’t necessarily believe it’s a choice between the two:

Bill Huber of Packer Report writes that Raji is expected to return to Green Bay for the 2015 season.

A year ago, Raji signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Packers, but missed the entire season due to injury. Ted Thompson may feel he can bring Raji back on a similar deal this year, maybe for less money.

It is possible the Packers will be trying to bring back Guion, despite his recent arrest.

They would likely be able to sign Guion on a one-year, low-risk contract which wouldn’t put the Packers in any financial issues should the NFL decide to suspend him.

The Packers need to improve in stopping the run, and a healthy Raji returning may be a cheap solution. Should Guion also return, there could be solid depth at the position.
