A late round steal?
Waller has the physical tools to succeed in the Packers’ system. He has the size, speed and athleticism to become a pass-catching threat for Rodgers. He is best suited to the slot, but could transition to tight end or a hybrid role with the Packers.

What could drop him as low as the sixth-round is his blocking and route-running. He has struggled with his blocking, particularly in the run game, and would need to develop this area of his game.
Fortunately, the Packers have plenty of weapons in the passing game so the pressure wouldn’t be on Waller to make an immediate impact. He would also be able to develop his game with the guidance of Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and the Packers coaching staff.
Even with a move to tight end, Waller isn’t the short-term answer. He could, however, become a star in the future with the right development.
The physical tools are certainly there; with the opportunity to grow in the Packers’ system, he could become a key contributor in the passing game in the future.
