Packers Draft: Top 5 cornerback targets

In my opinion, Carter is the best cornerback that nobody is talking about in this draft.
He is not only underrated, but he was also under-appreciated as a playmaker in Stanford’s secondary.
Week in and week out Carter was asked to match up against the opponents top receiver, and he was very effective in this role.
He shutout Arizona State’s Jaelen Strong and other top Pac-12 receivers. However, when Carter was given the freedom to drop in zone or roam the field and make plays on the ball, he was truly in his element.
Carter’s style of play resembles former Packers great Charles Woodson, and this is part of the reason I love this kid going into the draft.
He plays with great instincts and does a great job of dropping back and then breaking on the ball to deliver a hit, break up a pass, or come down with a pick.
Some analysts like him at safety in the NFL because of his size (6-0, 198) and ability as a tackler, but Carter is too good in coverage and pressing at the line to move out of the cornerback spot.
The Packers could use a physical corner like Carter in their secondary, especially after losing Tramon Williams this offseason. Carter would give them some versatility in their secondary, and he could also be a key special teams contributor.
Green Bay might be able to wait and get Carter at the end of the second round, but if they’re high enough on him, they may even take him with the 30th overall pick.
