Tier Four
16. Jermaine Whitehead, FS, Auburn (5-11, 197)
17. Kyshoen Jarrett, SS, Virginia Tech (5-10, 200)
18. Clayton Geathers, SS, UCF (6-2, 218)
19. Detrick Bonner, FS, Virginia Tech (6-0, 207)
20. Tevin McDonald, FS, Eastern Washington (5-11, 195)
The Skinny: There are plenty of role players that can be found in the later rounds.
Virginia Tech prospects Jarrett and Bonner are both tough competitors that made plays because they’re smart and play physical.
Whitehead flashes ability in coverage, recording six interceptions as a senior. He has decent ball skills, but his game lacks consistency. Character concerns will also push him to the later rounds.
Geathers is an interesting player that would be worth taking a chance on with one of the Packers’ three sixth-round picks.
He’s got good size and athleticism, and he can play up near the line and is at his best when he’s lowering his shoulder and knocking people around.
However, his game still needs a lot of work. Despite the talent, he still makes too many mistakes on the field.
He could be a pretty good player someday if he gets in the right system and takes to coaching.
