Ty Montgomery … did the Packers really need another receiver?
Round Three – WR Ty Montgomery – B
A higher grade would have been assigned to this pick had it come later in the draft.

Montgomery, whom many slated to go undrafted, is an addition to an already stacked wide receiver group, headlined by Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams.
With Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis added to the mix, the only real outlook for Montgomery in 2015 is on special teams.
He led his school is special teams production over the course of his college career, and can bring explosiveness to the return game like the Packers haven’t enjoyed since before Cobb became the valuable WR asset that he now is.
Sharing duties with Micah Hyde seems certain, but Montgomery can be a game-changer as a returner. If the Packers had addressed another need in round three and picked Montgomery later, his stock would have risen for me considerably.
However, a third round pick should be able to at least contribute something immediately, other than on special teams. However, the Packers did make special teams a priority this year after ending at the bottom of the NFL class in that area in 2014.
It makes sense to take the best of the best where he meets the need, and Montgomery meets and fills that need wholly.’
