For most of the game, the Rams offense (except for Todd Gurley) was nonexistent. They start with good field position but get a delay of game penalty on their first play. A couple plays later, on a 3rd + 9, Foles is looking for his tight end across the middle when Jared Cook seems to stop and Foles throws the ball right to Quinten Rollins who takes the ball back 45 yards for a TD. PICK SIX. Packers 14 – Rams 0.

After the Rams and Packers traded three and outs, the Todd Gurley show began (mixed in with a splash of Tavon Austin). On the next drive, Gurley ran six times and gained 37 yards. Austin caught a short 5 yard TD pass for their first score. Packers 14 – Rams 7.

The Packers got the ball back with 7:12 remaining in the 2nd quarter. They started to drive and had three 1st downs. On 1st + 10 on the STL 40, the unthinkable occurred again. Rams CB Trumaine Johnson broke on a short pass thrown in the right flat to James Jones, he laid out, made the interception and returned it 29 yards to the GB 33. Two interceptions for Aaron in the 1st half. Oh my!

During this possession, G TJ Lang was injured and replaced by G Josh Walker. Reports are that Lang’s knee injury is not serious. After the game, Left guard Josh Sitton, said: “He seemed like he’ll be all right.”

The Rams started on the GB33 but did not do much and settled for a 42 yard Greg Zuerlein field goal. Packers 14 – Rams 10.

The Packers got the ball back once more before the half, were able to get two 1st downs but time ran out to end the half.

It seemed as though the momentum was shifting in favor of the Rams. A steady diet of Todd Gurley was starting to take it’s toll. For sure the 2nd half was going to be interesting.
