QB – Aaron Rodgers

Last Game: 22/43, 202 passing yards, 33 rush yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; 14.38 fantasy points

This is the simplest way to say it: Aaron Rodgers has been in a slump.

Now, I don’t necessarily think it’s something to get crazy over; he is still Rodgers. I also think that a large portion of the blame for his poor numbers lately can fall firmly at the feet of his receiving corps (or lackthereof).

Even still, he hasn’t quite been as crisp with his decision-making and accuracy as we’ve gotten accustomed to, and his statistics during this recent 1-4 streak since the bye week are emblematic of that. Not everybody loves ESPN’s QBR* rating (mostly because people cannot just be fine with the fact that no statistic will ever be 100% foolproof) but it works well for illustrating this thought: through the past five games, Rodgers sits at a 51.48 QBR rating.

That is blatantly average on their 0-100 scale, which fits.

In specific terms of that last matchup with Detroit, it was an average game for Rodgers. Remember this though: the running game was terrible that day.

With Eddie Lacy coming back and the running game functioning better the past couple weeks, there could be more balance — and thus, better function — for the offense; more balance means things could be easier for the passing game.

Of course, the receivers will still have to make things happen, so I’m kind of keeping my hopes capped to a degree for now.

Week 13 Prediction: 250 passing yards, 1 TDs, 25 rush yards; 16.50 Fantasy Points

Verdict: Okay Output
