CB Casey Hayward

Bring Casey Hayward back to Green Bay would be a luxury. It would be great to see it happen, but ultimately the price tag will be too high and the Packers have good depth at cornerback.

With Sam Shields, Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins, the Packers are set at the position. LaDarius Gunter has a lot of potential and Micah Hyde can cover if injuries strike. Having depth at cornerback is crucial in today’s pass-dominated NFL, and having Hayward back in the mix would be a bonus, but not a necessity.

Missed tackles are problematic for Hayward; he led the team with 14 this past season. He also went the entire year without making an interception — the first time this has happened in a season he’s stayed healthy. Hayward had six picks as a rookie and three in 2014.

Cornerback is a premium position in the NFL, and this could result in a team willing to overpay for his services. Hayward believes he can play on the boundary, and a cornerback-needy team might be willing to pay him good money to be a starter on the outside.

Hayward might follow in Davon House’s footsteps. House got paid in Jacksonville last offseason.
