James Jones

James Jones was selected by the Packers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. After spending seven successful seasons in Green Bay including a Super Bowl title, Jones headed to Oakland. Little did we expect, a year later he would be back in the green and gold.

Why he should re-sign: Jones was the Packers’ best receiver in 2015. With a returning Jordy Nelson, Jones won’t be required to take on the opponents’ No. 1 corner and will be able to flourish in his role as a No. 3 wideout, or possibly even lower on the depth chart.

His experience, knowledge of the offense and trust from the quarterback go a long way, especially at key times in big games. He came up with a number of huge catches in 2015. Remember his incredible catch in Carolina on fourth down?

Why he should walk: With a healthy set of receivers, the Packers have too much depth and no room for Jones. He did exactly what was asked of him filling in for Nelson while he recovered.

Davante Adams will improve in 2015 as will Jeff Janis and Jared Abbrederis. With a returning Nelson and Ty Montgomery, the Packers are set at the position.
