Overall

There was justified concern with the Packers’ depth at cornerback when Tramon Williams and Davon House left town last year, but the addition of Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins re-established equilibrium at the position. The long-term outlook is far more encouraging with these two young talents in the green and gold.

Sam Shields is far and away the Packers’ best corner, but he needs to finally kick the injury bug in 2016. His performances in 2015 helped the young talent around him perform at such a high level.

Casey Hayward’s future is uncertain, but he had another solid season as the slot corner. His desired salary will determine where he lands in 2016 and whether a team is willing to spend more than the Packers for his services.

In 2015, the Green Bay secondary was one of the strengths of the team. What’s exciting is how many young parts there are. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is an excellent safety and will be entering just his third season in 2016. The talent at safety paired with the depth at cornerback ensures the Packers are loaded in the defensive backfield ahead of the new season.
