Prior to making this pick, Ron Wolf reportedly envisioned D’Onofrio as the next Chris Speilman.

The Penn State phenom was described as the type of linebacker who “likes to hurt people.” D’Onofrio never had much of a chance to put a hurting on anybody due to a torn hamstring he suffered in only his second game.

He never quite recovered and was out of football by 1993.
