Green Bay Packers: Five sleepers to target in 2016 NFL Draft
RB C.J. Prosise, Notre Dame
C.J. Prosise is an example of a player taking advantage of his opportunity. He started the 2015 season third on the Notre Dame depth chart, but was afforded a chance to show off his game when Tarean Folston went down for the season.
Prosise is a former safety and wide receiver, so he is still learning the intricacies of the running back position. Despite that, he offers plenty of potential at the next level and has a lot of encouraging elements to his game.
As he has played wideout before, this is a strength of his. Prosise can run good routes and has safe hands, and this will help him see more game time as a rookie. As a runner, he is an explosive player who has strength making him tough to bring down.
Eddie Lacy is entering a contract year and needs to prove he can play like his rookie self and bounce back from a disappointing 2015. James Starks wasn’t immune from mistakes either, fumbling five times on the year. Adding a running back would give the Packers an insurance policy and also someone who can compete for snaps in the backfield. If Prosise is there on day three, he could offer good value.
